A great line

In one of the rare interviews given jointly by Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, when asked what the greatest misunderstanding between them was, Steve Jobs did not answer directly.

At first, he joked that they had a secret marriage for a decade.

Then he turned serious and remarked that when he and bill first worked together, they were the youngest people in the room. And now they are working a their respective firms, they are often the oldest guys most of the time.

Towards the end, he said the followings

"And, you know, I think of most things in life as either a Bob Dylan or a Beatles song, but there’s that one line in that one Beatles song, “you and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead.” And that’s clearly true here."

There was a standing ovation with thunderous applause. It was a very emotional moment. Steve and Bill were visibly moved by that occassion.

What a great line to end an interview!
